A Virtual Porch hosted by Parents Reconciling Network (PRN).
October 27th | 8 PM ET | Virtual Porch on Zoom
with Chris Pepple (she/her)
Join us for this Virtual Porch — an online gathering space where we bring together speakers and stories around topics that matter.
We’re in a moment when LGBTQ+ people are losing rights in state after state, and it’s a moment that asks something of all of us — both the courage to show up publicly and the willingness to sit down, one on one, and have the harder conversations closer to home.
Chris Pepple will walk us through both. She’ll talk about what it means to “walk the walk” — voting, standing with people, speaking out, showing up at church board meetings, school boards, library boards, legislative sessions — knowing when and how to be an activist for change. And she’ll talk about what it means to “talk the talk” — the small group and one-on-one conversations, the letters we write, the coffee dates we invite people to, the personal stories we’re willing to share so someone else can finally hear us.
Come with your questions. Come ready to think about the conversations you’ve been putting off — who you might write to, who you might invite to the table, and what’s actually holding you back.
