A UMATI Virtual Porch: The UMC and Transgender Rights

A Virtual Porch hosted by United Methodist Alliance for Transgender Inclusion (UMATI).

September 22 | 3:00 PM ET | A Panel Discussion

Over the last two years, hundreds of new laws have limited transgender rights across the country. This panel brings together UMC leaders working at the intersection of faith and justice to talk about what it means for the church to be a sanctuary in this moment — the work already underway, and the steps still ahead of us.

Panelists:

  • Rev. Stephanie York Arnold (she/her), General Secretary, GCSRW
  • Rev. Kendal L. McBroom (he/him), Director of Civil and Human Rights, GBCS
  • Rev. Enger Muteteke (she/her), Senior Director of Programs and Education, GCORR
  • Rev. Andi Woodworth (she/they), Executive Director, RMN

UMATI is an extension ministry of RMN, working to make the UMC a church free from gender discrimination and a place that celebrates gender diversity.
