About Us

Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN) is a mission-driven 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to intersectional LGBTQ+ justice in the Church and world. Founded in 1984, RMN is committed to intersectional justice across and beyond the United Methodist connection, working for the full participation of all LGBTQ+ people throughout the life and leadership of the Church. We serve over 1,400 United Methodist congregations, campus ministries, universities, communities, and regional networks. Our network also includes over 46,000 Reconciling individuals engaged with our mission.

We believe that story and relationship inspire change, and we’re looking for a Director of Communications to help us share stories of the reconciling movement with the world.

Summary

RMN is seeking a visionary storyteller to develop and lead our communications strategies into the next chapter of LGBTQ+ justice in The United Methodist Church and beyond.

The Director of Communications will be the creative strategist behind RMN’s messaging — leading the creation of bold, pastoral, and inspiring communications that connect our movement across the world and mobilize people for justice. This leader will oversee communications channels; equip staff and Reconciling people to champion LGBTQ+ affirmation; and guide organizational voice and branding.

We’re looking for someone who can blend creativity with strategy. This individual will translate complex realities into clear, compelling stories. They will utilize a variety of mediums to reach a variety of audiences (e.g., LGBTQ+ people, United Methodists, other Christians, partner organizations, institutional leaders, and unaffirming or discerning individuals).
