After nine years of courageous leadership at Reconciling Ministries Network, we invite you to honor the legacy of Jan Lawrence & Lindi Lewis by helping continue the work they helped lead.
For nearly a decade, Jan Lawrence served as the steady and courageous leader of Reconciling Ministries Network, guiding the movement through one of the most challenging and transformative seasons in the life of The United Methodist Church. She did not do this work alone. Her wife, Lindi Lewis, was a constant partner — helping shape the spirit, the welcome, and even the look and feel of the spaces where this movement gathered.
Jan assumed leadership during a time of deep division and uncertainty. With wisdom, persistence, and compassion, she helped hold the Reconciling movement together and prepare the Church for historic change. Under her leadership, RMN helped shepherd the church toward the removal of discriminatory language, the revision of the Social Principles, and a new chapter of LGBTQ+ inclusion.
Together, Jan and Lindi didn’t just usher in new church policy. They walked alongside wounded people and congregations, offered steady guidance during difficult moments, and helped bring together a beautifully diverse community committed to justice, belonging, and love.
As Jan enters retirement, the work she helped lead continues.
That’s why RMN has established the Jan Lawrence and Lindi Lewis Justice Fund — a fund designed to secure the future of the Reconciling Ministries Network by creating a dedicated revenue stream for innovation, research, infrastructure, and strategic problem-solving. Through this fund, RMN will equip congregations and leaders, resource churches stepping into this new chapter of inclusion, sustain advocacy and organizing efforts, and strengthen the future of LGBTQ+ justice across the United Methodist Church and beyond.
Through this fund, Jan & Lindi’s spirit of courage, compassion, and persistence will continue guiding the movement forward.
