We are a group of ecumenical women who are concerned with social justice and social action. We feel compelled to speak and act in ways that demonstrate our faith. In a changing world, we strive to live out the teachings of Jesus regarding hospitality, generosity and no harm.
We support the full inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people (i.e., our sisters and brothers) in the life of the United Methodist Church.
We believe that current wording in the Book of Discipline specifically singles out certain individuals for harm – and that this harmful language must be changed or omitted.
We object to policies in the Book of Discipline that prohibit same-sex marriage officiated by United Methodist clergy, same sex ceremonies held in our sanctuaries and the ordination of gay and lesbian persons called to ministry.
We celebrate diversity in race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious background, age, gender, ability and socio-economic status.
We believe God’s love and grace are offered to everyone, every day and in every situation. In addition, we believe we are our sisters’ and brothers’ keeper.
