The Horizons class of Calvary United Methodist Church values all individuals, recognizing that we are all created in the image of God. We gather as a community to learn from each other and grow together in our understanding of our Christian faith as it relates to the complexity of the world. As people who have experienced God’s grace, we are called to embody God’s love by working to resist injustice and oppression, both individual and structural. We welcome and affirm people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions, age, racial or ethnic background, marital or socioeconomic status, nationality, immigration status, and physical or mental ability into full participation in this community of faith. Our vision is to provide a safe place to acknowledge and value similarities and differences as we expand our perspective through dialogue, study, prayer, and community engagement. Our mission is to expand our understanding of Christ’s love for every individual through a practice of inclusive welcome. We see this mission as actively supporting Calvary UMC’s mission “to transform the world by worshiping God, following Jesus, loving you, and serving all.”
