|RMN says farewell to staff member David Braden
Reconciling Ministries Network celebrates the contribution of a beloved staff member, David E. Braden, who after three years of leading fundraising initiatives and internal operations will be leaving today. Prior to joining RMN, David was the Foundation Relations Manager for four years at Interfaith Youth Core in Chicago, Illinois.
As development and operations director, David developed and executed strategies for raising $1.1 million in revenue from grants, individuals, and congregations. In partnership with an often unseen but talented staff, David oversaw all internal operations, including human resources, accounting, and budgeting processes. Alongside communications staff, David managed organizational messaging and branding.
“As Board Chair I have watched David’s leadership help grow the organization into what it is today,” said Rev. Dr. Bonnie Beckonchrist. “He can certainly be proud of the work he has done here that will live on many years into the future.”
Starting in August, David will be a first-year law student at the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law. His primary legal interests include elder law and working with older adults.
“I am grateful to have been witness to part of the legacy David worked to establish here,” said Matt Berryman, RMN executive director. “I know he is going to do great ministry wherever he goes, continuing the work of ending systems of oppression.”
“The work of Reconciling Ministries Network is extraordinarily vital for the people called United Methodist,” said David. “This was true when I was first coming out as a gay United Methodist over 15 years ago, and still true today as the Church falls further behind the call of justice. I am proud to have served my small part in advancing inclusion for all people within our denomination as a staff member of RMN.”
